Anchor,
this is an impressive track. The original sounds are very well choosen and your added cello is top notch. The song/remix sounds like if Roman Polanski had made his 1967 movie “Dance of the vampires” (The fearless vampire killers) nowadays, the trailer would have sound like this. Modern yet ancient, dark and occult with the touch of 21st century. A bit scaring but also fascinating. I had to look for the movie on youtube. Have a listen to the musical (and movie)samples here: http://de.youtube.com/watch... and: http://de.youtube.com/watch... Overall: a real cinematic version of an exciting theme! |

I thought I would listen to this in the dark! Big Mistake!!
Half way through I had to hit the pause button and go in search of garlic and a crucifix! Unfortunately I only had a tulip bulb and two twiglets but managed to survive to tell the tale. Creativity and realism can sometimes been taken too far!!:o) |

Thanks RT

Maybe it’s best that you put up a warning: “Keep the lights on!!!”
This must be one of my favourites of yours, and you already created quite a lot of very good stuff. You painted one dark and haunting atmosphere with this piece. My compliments. |

the appeal of things sinister is perhaps part of the way we face such issues as people and covert fears into art…thanks so much for listen and review! |

great song anchor. I love your voice.
The sampled vocals sound overly compressed or downsampled, I’m thinking it could be an issue either during wav conversion or mixdown. I’ve noticed this issue before in your other uploaded remixes. It’s a little distracting considering how stellar the track is. |

Thank you! I appreciate the review.
as a singer and lyricist I seem to get more excitement from that aspect of a presentation. I do however appreciate technical mastery and really appreciate your insights. If you would care to advise me on how to improve the issues you have noticed, I am certainly open. Please email me if so, since the review pages are probably not the appropriate place for such a dialouge. Thanks, Anchor |

That may be more my fault. I have a bad mic (just my laptop mic) and just use audacity, which seems to do a lot of noise removal on any high/loud notes, I’ve found. ;D If you know of any better recording media (cheap, I’m on a student’s budget), let me know. ^_^

It must be October! Not Schreck, not Lugosi, but very vampiric indeed.

Well you probably think you are all oddball and out there with this vampire stuff, but you are just sitting there in the twilight with the rest of them. All I hear about all day is vampires, vampires, vampires, ah the vaguaries of having a teenage daughter :-).
Only you could be both ancient and modern at the same time. And only you could get away with taking this just a little over the top. Great job Anchor. |

Whoa. You know I just find it so beautiful that so many worlds of music coexist on the same website.
You truly expand my musical boundaries. I thank you for that Anchor. |

Ok, so I’m not sure why I’ve never listened to your work before?… I’ve heard your voice many a time in mixes by others, but for whatever reason have never stopped by to take a listen to your previous work.
Well, I’ve dragged myself here and I’m liking what I hear so far. As far as this piece goes, its diverse and lush, thought provoking and yet attention grabbing. Like the reverse vocals btw. |

Once the male voice comes in (yours?), this becomes downright spooky. Then when the reverse vocals come on, my son ran away screaming in terror and now is afraid of his own shadow. He’s starting therapy tomorrow—he’ll be fine. I’ll have to listen to your stuff with my headphones from now on.
Just kidding. Nice work. |

very funny….
its always interesting when someone reviews an older upload…this song was made specifically for the Halloween season - though I did hope it would transcend its genre…it is an ancient ballad with many variations. My voice can be spooky yes- especially when the run-away vibrato hits…been several concerts where the whole audience fled in fear! Cheers and thanks for stopping by! |

Quote: Anchor MéjansMy voice can be spooky yes
Goodness, I did not mean that. I don’t think you took offense, but that is not what I meant. When your voice comes in, it’s simply the point in the song when the whole song becomes spooky. The instruments and everything. Your voice is far from spooky! (…and a hearty cheers to you, as well.) |
