The words are wonderful. Whimsical yet serious. As for the musical framework, it sounds like when you’re on the road and the radio reception is dodgy. A multitude of stations are fading in and out while you desperately try to keep the one program you’re interested in phase.

It made me smile cause it made total sense.

Wonderful.

Thank you for the visitation and the thoughts on this piece… I liked the radio comparison!

I’ve noticed how recently a lot of the mixes being uploaded are very experimental and in some cases completely off the wall!!

I feel I must take some of the responsibility for this but you must take full responsibility!!

And a very responsible presentation this is too!

Great originality as always!

appreciate your comments and insights…as for responsibility, I don’t think I can claim that distinction…perhaps its just the so-called “collective unconscious”!

It’s interesting to hear your own take on your own theme. In some ways different than I’d expected, though I wasn’t sure what to really expect. It’s completely different than the couple mixes I’ve heard, including my own. Interesting spatial placement and manipulation of your own voice. Did you rerecord some of your own vox or just stretch? Sounds in places new. It takes on a quality of sci-fi trailer or credits backing.

One thing about working with pellas and lyrics with this cadence that makes it difficult to work with is how repetitive it really is, though that also gives it a static quality that makes it colder and creepier, if that makes sense. Interesting and enjoyable listen with a different take and a very nice little surprise at the end, added a whole depth of thought at the end.

Shimoda-
yes - I did try and play up the Sci-fi aspects. This whole piece is more art than any real conviction I have about the subject…I think we should let conspirators lie (pun intended!).
I did do alternate vocals for the piece, yes…
thanks for your comments and for listen too!

I was saying to someone the other day that best person to mix Anchor Mejans is Anchor Mejans.

This is like some contemporary candlelit procession climbing the steps to the ruins above La Coste.

I bet that persons ears are burning (as the old saying goes)…
LS - I think your image of the Lacoste stairs has hit the nail on the head…
having ambled through those ancient streets and other similar places - I can confirm that in such places many a personal mythology is born.
Thanks for coming by!

I do enjoy your own mixes. Very interesting to hear your own take and they are often suprising after hearing what others have done with your pellas. Enjoyable and interesting.

Isn’t that one of the most interesting things about ccmixter? Hearing what other people do with your offerings? It’s fun to write, sing and create music…but I am often more delighted by what other people do with my ideas…like your re-framing of “Trust”. Interpretation is a very exciting arena for artists. Thanks for coming by and giving a listen!

I think I never would have an idea of making such a soundscape that doesn_t seem to know boundaries.
But this is the place where we can try and execute this music and let us inspire.
So I take off my hat for the idea and the execution.
Okay, back to my pop music projects(in progress) !!;-)

Very cool. Thanks for including my sample in this- you’ve certainly got some great audio theatre here. The vocoder part immediately reminded me of “…He maketh me into veal cutlets..” (Pink Floyd, Animals) A real treat, and as much as I enjoy working with your pellas, LS has a good point! That won’t stop me from mangling more of your songs, however ;-)

Sir Duckett - Part of the fun of cc.mixter is the experimentation factor - all these great creative people (yourself among them) coming up with all manner of unique offerings with the samples we put out for re-mix potential…I am always (well usually) very amused and honored by peoples use of my particular offerings - so whether “mangled” or morphed it all good….
