Your work on this song is excellent (maybe the intro a little bit long for my taste). Sumptuous arrangements of string and piano bring to this song this kind of “Dramatic/Cinematographic” dimension that i really love. And the acoustic guitar is excellent too.
But, after that i’ve read the “How i did it”, i understand what was disturbing me. There is like a “decallage” between the voice and the music. It’s like if the first time of the acappella and the first time of the music wasn’t on the same movement. (Les “Ooh” of calendar tombent à vide parfois”). And it’s a strange sensation for me. Mais bon, à part ça…Sacré boulot..!!!  |

Merci de ton avis et de ton analyse, c’est toujours intéressant et constructif. Je pense que je me pencherai un peu plus précisément sur ce que tu as décrit pour modifier certaines choses. De toute façon, j’avais déjà envie de mettre la voix un peu plus en avant qu’elle ne l’est actuellement. Merci encore.

Non, ça n’est pas dû au fait que la voix en trop ou pas assez en avant, c’est simplement que tu as inséré l’acapella dans un play-back qui au départ n’était pas prévu pour ça. Il y a comme un décallage dans les temps forts des deux parties..Je ne sais pas si je suis vraiment clair, mais surtout ne détruis pas ton travail, qui est très réussi comme cela..

Oui, j’ai bien compris que tu ne parlais pas du fait qu’elle soit trop ou pas assez en avant. C’est moi qui pense qu’elle est un chouilla trop dedans…mais je ne compte pas détruire le travail, ne t’inquietes pas ! A l’origine, ce morceau n’etait que purement musical, mais j’aime bien ce qu’apporte la voix, son côté vivant. Maintenant, pourquoi pas demander à quelqu’un de mettre une voix spécifiquement conçue pour le morceau ? Merci en tout cas de ton analyse.

Another great track; this reminds me a little of Pink Floyd in some ways, but still original, and very impressive in the lushness and arrangement. If there’s any timing/sync issues, I myself can’t hear them. If this is the sort of work you do on a regular basis, I bet there is an Editor’s Pick in your near future…
