I’ve heard the piano before - I think in a tv commercial. Is it a classical piece of music?

Yes this is a very well known classic piece of classical music ;-) I hope you like it with Hektor’s vocals. If not then try my other offering called “Silky Black”.

So which one is the classical one?

I prefer this version, maybe because I am used to the melody. *G*

This is the classical version called “Gymnopedie No. 1” by the French composer Erik Satie. It is what I call “true” chill music that can take you away for a moment and in this case let you enjoy Hektor’s words in a sort of hypnotic way. I’m glad you found a version you enjoy.

Maybe you should add title and author as tags?

Anyway I picked this song as Catch of the day. :)

Hi Musikpirat,

Many thanks for your suggestion. I will do that.

By the way I have checked out your site and love it. Also I feel proud that you have selected me as your “Catch of the day”. Make sure you don’t miss out on the other music I have at ccMixter, and thanks again.

Like an elegant array of camera angels, settings, and subjects, this piece evokes “black” much like film noir. Your arrangement truly accentuates the palatial beauty of which my prose speaks of—simply precious!

P.S. - I also adore the other version; it is almost just as sublime. But yeh… I agree with Musikpirat—this trumps.

Simple sounds for simple words that take the listener on a journey within their mind. This is the aim with all my music offerings and you help provide the sign posts. Thanks!

this one is great too. Satie wrote this music for an art gallery, an exhibition and the addition of Hector’s voice and words just add to the gallery feel, like contemplating art from different perspectives. It’s good.

Many people know the music but not who wrote it, pity really. I’m glad you like it.
