I like that acoustic guitar which starts this piece. The backing vocals at the beginning are awfully muted.

The vocals and the melody don’t fit—perhaps the key is off a bit, but I’m not sure what the problem is and have not fired up my studio on the track to tell me more scientifically.

The idea is good—almost a Neil Young angle on this track, but the music, good in itself, falis to work with the voice for me.

Interesting treated guitar bit—so perhaps Neil Young was not the best reference—unless one thinks “Trans”. :).

Like 2 solid halves that don’t make a whole—great backing, interesting vocals, failure to fit together well.

When I listen to other mixes with this source, such as Teru’s at
http://ccmixter.org/media/f... the fit issues don’t appear. Perhaps what this piece needs is adjustment of the pitch on the vocals to match up better.

hehe….this one was pretty cool. actually i think the vocals and the mix sound fine together. i think we’re so used to hearing brad singing this, it’s odd to hear his music with someone elses vocals. but pitch wise, i think it’s ok, and your singing isn’t half bad either. coming soon to a karaoke bar near you….brad sucks! :)

but i feel like you took the easy way out by just karrie-okee-ing up his track, which from a novelty perspective is cool but thin.
