Great—really impressed! You should add the stems, as this could easily take off into Mega Jazz Territory.

I had never pictured you singing in a smokey, dim-lit basement jazz club until I heard this vocal! Glad you like it, your voice suits the jazz style perfectly - hopefully it will be the start of a new trend, especially from people with faster jazz hands than me! I’ll get the stems up later, although the brush samples are commercial so I don’t think I can upload them as far as I know. They’re from ‘The Art of Brushes Vol 1’ which is very reasonably priced anyway

Hi and thanks for this! As it turns out, I’ve sung in more smokey, dimly-lit basements than I care to remember! And you got a great vibe going here—adding some stems would be great. Thanks again—nice!

The stems are up now - I want you to come up with something so jazztastically smooth that my bow tie becomes untied…nnnnnice!!

OK, I’ll wait till I’m in Da Mood! Meanwhile—what tempo (bpm) did you use? I think my sample was 130bpm? Cheers!

It’s the same tempo, although I think I can quite safely describe it as 65bpm instead! Looking forward to hearing what you come up with

Ah right—half tempo. OK! Now I’ve somehow got to get good at jazz! That reminds me of a soprano sax player I used to jam with years ago—whenever he hit a bum note, he claimed he was playing jazz!

I am always a sucker for some piano and brushes, and the silky trumpet part from Bucky Jonson is always a nice touch. :)

Thanks dm, you’re a much more talented musician than me, so if you were ever to do a jazz re-working of Javo’s voice I’d be sure to download it (I’m not hinting, honest!)

I might just give it a go sometime – but it’ll be hard following this.
