I’ve been listening to this beautiful song (As well as quite a few other joints that have been uploaded to CCMixter) and I’ve just got to put some new music up here. The 2nd half of 2008 was really sh*tty and busy & depressing & made it nigh impossible to put anything new up here. But I made a promise to myself for the New Year: Time for new songs, new vocals - just some new damned music! Jeff, this is a gorgeous track & thank you! Thank all of you on CCMixter. You guys and gals help keep a brutha kind sane! HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!

LS!
I am pretty certain that Cherry is going to love this. You aptly named the piece as a “prayer”. Bernadette was one of Cherry’s best friends who passed away a couple years ago. She was a happy, fun-loving life-buoyant person so your piano suits the piece well. Beautiful work. Thanks. Anchor

My pleasure, these are the last two lines of Bernadettes Prayer.

Let affliction strengthen my faith, fortify my hope, and purify my love.

Grant me the grace to see Your hand in my affliction, and to desire no other comforter but you.

Liberace??? I think not. It is a rare pleasure when you slip into your indeterminate piano mode. The mood fits well with a spirit looking forward but tamed by reality, bubbly with the last of the New Year’s champagne but chilled at the same time.

Loveshadow… everywhere .. but always on point….

I can’t hear Liberace either; this has more elements of Sakamoto to me. The production is crystal clear and blends the various elements with such ease and elegance it’s not even funny.

Methinks you should have a beer more often if this is the type of results we’ll hear. It’s absolutely stunning.

By which I mean that I loves it.

How did i miss this?

Well, the move to beer is clearly a great one in this instance. How you’ve managed to manipulate the portion of my mix into different keys is amazing, sounds so seamless.

Piano work is delightful, has a real nice flow in line with the backing rhythm. Many thanks for using my material!

Finally, up the beer intake

I agree with Colab on the Sakamoto vibe! This is a real treat to listen to and a bit of a change in direction for you. Me like a LOT!!!

The jazzy keyboard line runs through this song like an unfathomably expensive thread through an elegantly-made suit—the kind of suit that one waits for weeks on end to try on, and when one has put it in, it fits as if it had been made to do so. At least that is how I imagine it would be, if I had tailors make my suits. I’ll need that tailor-made suit, and I’ll pretend that I’m holding a vodka Collins rather than a Shirley Temple as I
straighten my tie while looking in the mirror just above the long, elegant walnut bar.

To use local defunct nightclub names—A caravan of dreams, a gypsy tea room—a delightful confection, tailor-made.

A rich, inventive mix, complementing and complimenting the vocal.
