Hi and thanks for using my stuff! Your vocal track is beautiful, you got a great vocal tone, and I really like the style and lyrics. I also very much like the cymbal touches and some of the deeper percussion sounds. Just my personal view here, but I’d probably calm down the busier percussion stuff and give the voice and guitar more space. I think you got a great vibe going here — when are you gonna play that Xaphoon of yours? I really like that too!

Thanks :) I am glad I could return the favour as I love your tone and the feel of your work. I will pull out the Xaphoon soon… Its a bugger to play in many keys outside a few sharps or flats but soon I promise!
Cheers!

Hi — just thought I’d ask: what keys are good for the Xaphoon? If you let me know, I can do some GTR stuff in those keys. Maybe would be good to showcase GTR and Xaphoon.

Hey Jav-o :-) C, G, F, D, and all associated minors - Am, Em, etc. I going to play around with the D and Dm lovelies you posted recently and see what I can come up with.
Cheers!

I really enjoy how sound can ‘evoke’ images in the mind… its really trippy when it happens to me so I glad I could do the same :) I use the same filter on the master tracks so that certain helps balance the final output. Cheers!

It’s a beauty. I don’t dislike all the percussion. It’s busy yeah, but you kept the levels such that the voice and guitar are still the stars.

Its a rare mix for me where I kept the percussion right down the middle. Usually when it gets busier I push some track out on the stereo field but this time I pushed the voices out. I have been playing with the ‘binaural’ effect lately… probably been mixing too long with cans :) Thanks for your kind words!
Cheers!

the percussion is a minor issue for me. it sounds like friends adding their feelings to the mix. the vocal quality is really good on this, too.

I think I just need to scrub the talking drum track a little :) it got carried away I think… I have really enjoyed your vocal work so thanks for that. It really means a lot. Cheers!

I was regretting putting the rainstick in the mix before I used it and then in the end I think it adds that little bit of shimmer or spark to the mix :) I am glad you enjoyed it!
Cheers!

All the sounds are warm and free here - loosely woven - so that the whole is lovely to listen to. Your vocal is really good and has such a nice tone. You let it flow naturally, keeping the mood.

I love any free form pieces and the ones that are recorded ‘in time’ I love to add free form elements :-) thank you so much for your kind words. This is a very encouraging and pleasant community of artists isn’t it? :-)
Cheers!

I like the percussion but I’m curious to hear a version with less percussive busyness and more space, if you feel inclined.
