This is an incredible vocal…some of it is a little overmodulated…any chance of another version of this?

Thank you. I am unsure of the term “overmodulated” so if you can explain this, I could do a retake for you, or email you an mp3 with some compression applied. I am backlogged right now with vocal requests, so a re-take might be a bit down the line.
This version has absolutely no mastering or EQ, have you tried applying compression or EQ on your end?
Let me know, I am happy to re-do it.

there is distortion in the vocal either too close to the mic during the recording or the record input volume was too high. I’ve run it through a hard limiter and tried a clip restoration but no dice. I’ve noticed this in your other vocals a little as well…you have a great voice and with a softer recording you will most certainly get a ton of remixes. It’s much easier to amplify a softer vocal than remove distortion from an overmodulated one. Hope that helps. If you’re too busy no worries thanks for sharing/uploading.

well since this recording I have upgraded microphones, although I have a lot of work to do. The biggest problem I run into is that my loud to soft range is big, and I want to catch all the subtleties of soft. I think too, I need a better pre-amp. This is a difficult voice to control, I will tell you that!
Thank for the advice, I hope to improve going forward here!

indeed the subtleties of your softer range definitely draw the listener to it. One thing to try is to back off the mic a bit in areas where you know you will project more energy/volume into the vocal…and move closer to it when you will utilize the softer range. You definitely have the talent. I appreciate the discourse.
