Interesting backing track. Like the concept.

IMO, the flute (following the melody) interferes with vocals and the crescendos drown out the vocals.

Thanks for your honest opinion.

OK, I’ll come clean. I put this together in 8 hours, and did the final mixdown at 2:30AM after the coffee pot had run empty…! :o)

Next morning, I woke up with a nagging feeling about - guess what - the flute part and the harp crescendo in the chorus. By which time, the deadline had gone.

I’ll get around to tweaking it eventually. In the meantime, at least I know I was right!

I’ve now uploaded a new version as the main mix - the flute has been tweaked a bit. The changes are reflected in the stems; and for educational purposes, the original version is filed as a “rough mix”.

Said I’d fix it eventually. ;)

this is quite lovely. great orchestral arrangement - i really like the melody of the flute. turning it down, panning it and or otherwise treating may give it a more complimentary placement? thanks so much for including me - i can tell you put a lot of work into it and feel very honored.

Thank you!

Your original track gave me a lot of ideas. So a large part is down to having great material to start with.

Thanks for the suggestions - I’ve had some more ideas myself too, so I think I’ll revisit this.

I’ve now uploaded the modified stems for anyone who wants them. Pull ‘em apart, tweak ‘em, and have fun!
