KHRISTIAN K – Biography
Originally born as Krisztian Kiss in Hungary, Szolnok 18.04.1980. In his childhood his main interest beyond fine arts was graphics.
/Instead of playing soccer with the other “normal� boys. Therefore he soon become a little bit reserved. Later he found his path to escape in music. /
He started to inquire to electronic music very early. Such as he already listened to Depeche Mode, Bonanza Banzai, Kraftwerk, Art of Noise, Future Breeze or Ultrasonic and this kind of music at the age of 14. ï?Š At the time he turned 15 was his first experiment in mixing music, with his fathers brand new Goldstar hifi and a Tesla record player to Ultrasonic a Neoton Familia track ï?Š
At the age of 16 he started his carrier in the only club of his hometown as a dj. That time his name was Khris[c] (with pitch range tape-deck) So in summer 1996 he become a teenager-disco dj at Moment Club. He kept on playing here till 1998. By then he played in the “techno� room Emanuel Top, Underground Resistance, Pascal FEOS, Misjah, Advent, Adam Beyer or Thomas Krome and a lot of different techno artworks of Detroit, Sweden, or Europe.
In 1999 he moved to Budapest, and eventually started to play in the city’s single techno club, at Supersonic Technikum. In 2000 he started to organize gigs with proper concept. That was the time when he decided to change his artist name from Khris[c] to Khris Grown. Mainly the idea of the events was : intelligent techno music, young and determined, accurate and mix-sensitive presentation to the audience. Kept in a regular and familiar club milieu. Later he played in most of Budapest’s “underground� or not really underground clubs, such as: Fáklya Klub, Kashmir Klub, Livingroom, Desperados, Neo Café, The Club, P3 Dance Club, Blade Club…
He started music composing in 2002. His early works were dark and energetic techno made by Fruityloops, He was so touched with it so that between 2006 and 2004 he only handled with composing. . ï?Š
The frame is still Fruityloops, (plus a lot of plug-ins such as: Albino, MiniMoog, FM7, Absynth DaOrgan, Moog Modular, PRO 52 and so more..). Home studio rider: Intel P4 PC with Yamaha DSP soundcard, Apple G3, Edirol PCR-30 keyboard, mixer, cables.
The sound and vibe is original , energetic and fascinating. Every single track contains a whole different story in itself.
In 2006 he returned on stage with a new expressive artist name Khristian K. The result is: Wavebreaker Night /monthly resident dj, and a weekly radio show named as Think That.
