Process

I found this first piece of Ciggi's had very compelling melodies in the chorus, with respect to the more recent ones. I would have discarded it if I hadn't had the intention of remixing all her pellas!
So I gave to the verses a strong riff and left the chorus with a simple bass background. The original structure is very interesting and helped me with the result: verse-chorus-verse-variation-verse-chorus-chorus.
I left the riff on the variation too, so the strange chorus comes at last as a liberation. And the last chorus, when the ear has learned its bass background, comes out with all its complexity. This was the real pain to compose and the main reason this pella scared me.
Last, the piano obbligato that underlines the 3/4 time, and gives characterization and fun with its scrambled scales. Does it sound mysterious? It is, in fact, a 4/4 arpeggio without the 4th note.

Other Notes

Ah, and I thank "11.22.63" star Sarah Gadon which inspired me. After watching the show I made the final struggle on this song while watching this picture: http://www.20min.ch/diashow/39949/02831533-461dcc835e4bb7acf695c4b40ca8a75a.jpg
