How I Did It
Tools I Used
Les Paul, Fender Telecaster, Fender P-Bass, mandolin, a Yamaha organ with a Leslie 150, a Vox vt-30 amp, Boss DR-880, Izotope Vinyl
Samples I Used
snowflake's "Like Music" (vocals, lead through backing vocals 4.)
Original Samples
two guitar tracks, bass, organ, drums, mandolin.
Process
First I taught myself the song, found a good rhythm... I knew I wanted to do it half-time, unlike the piano which was at full-time. So I cut the beat to 70 bpm.
Laid down the organ against the original piano, then muted it, added the drums, then bass, then the two guitars. The guitars were played through a classic vox amp tone. I used Isotope Vinyl to make this sound like a classic recording. It might be a little more lofi than I like, but it sort of works.
Other Notes
Loved the song, had to do it right away!
