Uses samples from:

Samples are used in:

Tools I Used

PRS 513 guitar, Ibanez Bass

Cubase 5, Guitar Rig 4, Groove Agent 3

Samples I Used

The drums are created with Groove Agent 3. The vocals are of course Jacinda's great pop song plus I created a second harmony with some of the pitch shifting tools available with this latest version of Cubase.

Original Samples

The guitar parts and bass are old fashioned manual playing. All the stomp boxes, guitar and bass amplifiers are from the Native Instruments software plugin Guitar Rig 4. I was afraid of getting too sidetracked from the remix, if I took the time to record from a real amp.

Process

This remix was born from jamming for hours (more like days) to Jacinda's infectious vocal track with my new guitar until my fingers hurt. Unfortunately I recorded my parts a little later than I should have (finger fatigue), so my playing is a bit looser than I had hoped for.

Other Notes

I'm secretly hoping that this remix will be a bit of a surprise to my ccM friends, who know me to be more of a synthesizer nut. :-)

The intention was to make this a bit of a "live band" - classic guitar pop combo with two six stringers (only once a brief cheat with a 3rd one in the longer bridge), one 4 stringer, and a skin basher as the instrumental accompaniment.
