FL Studio Pro
Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio
TS 404 Sequencer
FLC Drums
Slayer 2 .vst

Samples I Used

I grabbed Shockshadow's ACAP and downloaded a couple of his other songs. I cut some parts from his song that harmonized with my melody I made (The background in the middle-8 and the last synth is Shockshadows)

The whooshes were from two samples from "Soundpool DvD" which is Royalty Free

Original Samples

I created 2 Power rhythm parts, 10 Dropped C rhythm / lead parts, and 3 separate custom drum/cymbal parts (30 different ones).

Process

Since I was using spoken word a-cappellas, I had to create some sort of melody, hook, etc from scratch. I used Shockshadow's tone inflections as the melody (Cantus Firmus) if you will, then made harmonies (Species) off of that. First one I made was the Power hook you hear thru-out the song, then off that I made the Dropped "dark" rhythm parts. Then I got stuck for a long time to figure out the Middle 8 melody / harmony. Once I had those parts I tied them all together with fills which at some points I think I could have done better.

Other Notes

I kinda start from the beginning and plow thru, I need to lay out the structure of the song before I begin. If you notice in this song after the 2nd verse its a little weird in its transition to the middle-8, and the bridges are kinda ruff
