Samples are used in:

Tools I Used

Audacity.
GarageBand.

Samples I Used

GarageBand drum and acoustic guitar loops.

Original Samples

Melody (flute)
Bass (Fretless Bass)
Organ (Cathedral Organ)
Synth (Cloud Break)

All from GarageBand software instruments.

Process

Lately, I deliberately chose to work with fully mixed samples. What I typically do with fully mixed tracks is to run them through Audacity (love that nifty Open Source s/w!) to change their tempo, usually to a slower BPM. Or I do a "Reverse" and end up playing the track backwards.

Nope, I'm not looking for demonic or subliminal messages, LOL. I do it as a different way to draw inspirations for melodies. It could be me, but when I slow down the tracks I hear musical notes that weren't apparent in the original BPM. Maybe it's the change in frequencies or something. Or I'm imagining all of it. Whatever the reason, I get ideas for melodies that way and would attempt to create it using another instrument. In this track, the main melody from the flute was created that way.

Other Notes

Think I'll continue to remix fully mixed samples.
