Samples were created by CosmicD, a regular contributor to Freesound.
Process
I placed the four effects on my Audacity workspace and started moving them around, adding a fade here, duplicating an effect there. I had no particular design in mind when I began; it just evolved as I worked.

It's so awesome how elegant sound editing and mixing can be on a digital audio workstation.
