When I hear the lyric/poems of A.M. Mews (as she alone can recite them) I feel as if I am in the presence of a Seer. Perhaps like one who once stood before the Oracle of Delphi. Her words are both familiar and foreign and perhaps too, conjure up images both personal and distant. I have a similar feeling when I listen to the raw energy which Bill Ray delivers in his wonderful drum solos, which to me are also polar in their dynamic control and paired sense of wild abandon. With that in mind I add my accompaniment of electric cello to try and create a mood of other-worldly evocations. Thanks to Victoria Melfi as well, for the brief ethereal female singing part.

(excerpt from MoOnRoOster):

I was told that even the sun and the moon
Share the sky at dawn…
And as I accepted it with a yawn,
I heard the rooster cry!
Awakened completed by a lie…
I could see the sun slowly rising up,
Always ahead of me…
Always bringing me morning of days lost…
Feeling the end of the night’s frost.
Realizing its existence in Eternity,
I began to wonder what the sun was really for?
I also found my vision becoming poor…
As I tried to raise my head…
My body felt cold, limp, dead…
Blindness overshadowed me
And took me to a place….
Where I… the sun the moon … had no face…
I was told that even the sun and the moon
Share the sky at dawn…
