Caught between the cross and my heart.
To stop a heated kiss is so hard.
But if he says that he loves me, then who am I to deny my flesh?

Now the blood on my hands
is staining these satin sheets.
When I wake up screaming
It’s your face that I see.
I fold my hands and fall to my knees
But that virgin can’t relate to me.

Bleeding. I’m bleeding.
In between these sheets I lie
Drowning in the hopes that I am
Dying. I’m dying.
It’s not a passive resistance.
It is inflicted upon me.

So, are you okay?
I’m fine, if I shut my eyes and close my mind.
But sister says, “Suffer me the crucifix. The one gift you had you lost like water falling from your lips.”

And now the blood on my hands is Staining these satin sheets.
When I wake up screaming,
You try to quiet me.
I bow and pray, these sacraments I take.
But in the end, for Jesus’ sake…

I’m bleeding. Bleeding.
In between these sheets I lie.
Drowning in the hopes that I am
Dying. I’m dying.
It’s not a passive resistance.
It is inflicted upon me.

Ave Maria.
Gratsia plena.
Maybe if she had known him
She’d be a happier girl now.
She’d be a happier girl now.
I’d be a happier girl now.
